Unveiling God's Unfailing Love

November 12, 2023

Key Scriptures

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6

“And Jesus said to them, “Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.” Matthew 9:15

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.

  • How are we similar to both Gomer and Hosea?
  • How is Israel similar to America?

Start thinking. Ask a question to get your group thinking.

  • Read John 3:16. Dissect the verse word by word and let the gravity of the verse soak in. What does this verse mean?
  • What was going on in Judah and Israel at the time of Hosea?
  • Since his marriage was a picture of God’s relationship with Israel, who does Hosea represent?

Start sharing. Choose a question to create openness.

  • Do you have an Idol or false God in your life? Is there something you need to surrender to God?
  • Are you married? Think about how adultery would affect your marriage. When looking at Israel and the account of Gomer and Hosea, how do you see the love and mercy of God in the account?

Start praying. Be bold and pray with power.

  • Father God, forgive us when our hearts haven’t been fully devoted and aligned with you. We repent of our sins and ask you to forgive us. Your mercy and grace follow us as long as our hearts are always in a repentant state. God, just like Gomer and Hosea, America is falling away from you. We pray for our country. We cry out for you to turn it around Lord. Whatever it takes, Lord. Be with us as we are your eyes and ears to the Lost and broken. Help us find those who need you most and show them the only Love that can save them. In Jesus name, Amen.

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.

  • Read the entire book of Hosea.
  • Reach out to one lost friend and invite them to church.
