The Authority of the Believer

March 12, 2023

Key Scriptures

I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength. Ephesians 1:16-19

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.

  • Have you ever thought about what it means to have dominion over something?
  • What did that mean for Adam and Eve?

Start thinking. Ask a question to get your group thinking.

  • What is God's mandate?
  • What is the role of the church (the called out ones) today? More specifically, what is your role?

Start sharing. Choose a question to create openness.

  • Are you willing to discover and carry out your role in God’s plan?

Start praying. Be bold and pray with power.

“Lord, I want to better understand what authority you have given the church and also to me as your child. I want to advance your plans and I want my life to count for your kingdom. Reveal to me how I can make a difference at my job, in my community and at my church. I thank You that this coming week I will have opportunities to be salt and light to this broken world in Jesus name amen!”

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.

  • Make a decision to be positive in your thinking and speech, say what God says about you.
  • Look up some scripture passages that describe your position in Christ.
  • Memorize verses that build you up as a strong follower of Christ.
