Jesus Didn't Say Anything About the Topic of Intolerance

July 9, 2023

Key Scriptures

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matthew 7:13-14

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.

  • Did Jesus talk about Intolerance? What did He have to say about it?
  • How have words evolved in today's world?

Start thinking. Ask a question to get your group thinking.

  • What does the word tolerance mean? How do you think it is misused today?
  • How can you have compassion for someone but also help them understand objective truth?

Start sharing. Choose a question to create openness.

  • Have you ever been called intolerant? How did you respond? What would you change after hearing this message?
  • Do you have anyone in your life that has different opinions than you? If so, how do you engage in conversation? How could your conversations be more fruitful?

Start praying. Be bold and pray with power.

God, You are so faithful. Your word stands true since before the beginning of time. You created this day and placed us in it for a reason. To be the salt and the light to a world who doesn't know the truth anymore. Help us to be the generation that fights for truth. Your truth Father. Help us to show others your light by the way we live our lives. We want to be forgiving and welcoming to all but also stand for what is right without compromise. We need discernment and wisdom only you can give Jesus. Help us to hear your voice clearly. In Jesus name. Amen.

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.

  • Pray for someone you don't agree with this week. Make sure you aren't harboring any unforgiveness towards them.
