God’s Good Plan For You

February 11, 2024

Key Scriptures

John 1:1,10, 12, 14 NLT “In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God… 10. He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him… 12. But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God… 14. So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.”

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.

  • Do you believe God has a good plan for your life? What scriptures come to mind?
  • Why do you think we are a nation of spenders and not savers? What are you? A spender or a saver?

Start thinking. Ask a question to get your group thinking.

  • What does the Bible say about being generous? Do you have a personal testimony of God honoring your generosity or someone being generous to you?
  • Is wealth wrong? Why or why not?
  • According to Matthew 6:19-21, what and where is true treasure? How do we store treasures there?

Start sharing. Choose a question to create openness.

  • How can you become a better steward of your finances?
  • Are you in debt currently? How can you practically get rid of your debt? How do you stay out of debt?
  • Do you have a budget set in place? What did Jesus say about budgeting according to Luke 14:28–30.

Start praying. Be bold and pray with power.

  • Father God, Thank you for this study on finances. We know it’s important to you because it’s mentioned over 2,350 times in your word. We pray that you will continue to teach us to have a proper relationship with money. We pray it will not rule over us but that we can use it to build comfortable and generous lives for those around us. Help us to make financial decisions, be in every single one Lord. We also pray you will continue to show us ways we can bless others with our finances, always looking for the next opportunity to bless others.
