Building A Godly Home

Key Scriptures

I will sing of mercy and justice; To You, O Lord, I will sing praises. I will behave wisely in a perfect way. Oh, when will You come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me. A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know wickedness. Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy; The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart, Him I will not endure. My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land, That they may dwell with me; He who walks in a perfect way, He shall serve me. He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house; He who tells lies shall not continue in my presence. Early I will destroy all the wicked of the land, That I may cut off all the evildoers from the city of the Lord..  -Psalm 101

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.

  • What has been the most impactful part of this series thus far?
  • What were your top five priorities before hearing the message? What are they now?

Start thinking. Ask a question to get your group thinking.

  • Can you recall when you were unsuccessful until you became more intentional with something? How does that relate to your spiritual life?
  • What kind of “cages” have you built in your home?

Start sharing. Choose a question to create openness.

  • What things need to be done in your home to take control back over the devil? What is the first step to achieving that?
  • Who in your family or close friends must you pray for and start having Godly and severe conversations with? What may that look like?

Start praying. Be bold and pray with power.

Lord, I can not do this by myself. Please give me the courage to control my life and home. Give me discernment of the things in my house, things being watched, and people invited in. Please show me how to live and be my compass. Thank you for your mercy and grace. I do not deserve you, but you always love me anyway. May I step out in faith and be intentional this week to bring change to my home. Thank you for the direction you have given me and will provide me with. We love you and praise your son’s mighty name, Jesus Christ, Amen!

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.

  • Walk around your house this week and take notes of the things that need to be changed.
  • Change one thing this week to bring Godliness into your home.
